Bloodhound SSC is a high technology project aimed at breaking the Land Speed Record! The project has two main aims: the first is to build a supersonic car capable of reaching speeds in excess of 1000 mph and the second is to encourage a new generation of engineers by bringing science, technology, engineering and maths to life in the most exciting way possible.
EM Coating Services are excited to be involved with such an innovative project and recently completed work on 30 different structural parts which will form part of the bronded framework of the car.
Being part of the Curtiss-Wright family this sponsorship continues the long tradition of involvement with such projects as our founders Glenn Curtiss and the Wright Brothers undertook the first recognised flight in 1903, closely followed in 1907 when Glenn Curtiss became know as the “fastest man in the World” when he rode his V-8 motorcyle at a speed of 136.4 mph.
